Every wild horse removed from public lands deserves an accountable record. The public should be able to follow that horse from capture through holding, adoption, sale, release, or death.
After comparing BLM's published 2023 Antelope North and South gather reports with a BLM “Gathered Animals” report run October 6, 2026, I found a substantial difference that needs an explanation.
The records reviewed do not establish that horses disappeared from BLM custody. They establish that the individual-animal report provided does not reconcile with the published gather totals. That distinction matters, and so does getting a complete answer. Where are the missing horses?
