STEPS AND TIPS IN TRAINING
New owners need to set up the horse for success with THEM first.
After working with a new Mustang and the bond is solid - then seek an outside trainer if one is needed. It takes us some time to learn that horses talk to each other and us with body language. Then it takes us more time to learn what the horses are saying.
Just imagine how long it takes for your Mustang to understand that the NOISE coming from you is a form of communication. We have learned that when we take the time to teach Wild Horses to learn our language (whoa/halt/walk/walk on/or just a cluck) whatever word you want to use.
By the time your horse learns to listen to what you want them to do like using the word whoa just before pulling the Reins back. More often than not the horse will learn to listen to the word and will stop before the rain is pulled. IT TAKES AS LONG AS IT TAKES We like to Line drive these horses from the ground first with a halter then a Snaffle bit.
This way, by this time if you send the horse to a trainer, your expenses will be far less. Your horse is ready to be ridden.
